1. About Us


Somerset Batteries ("we", "our", "us") provides battery sales, battery testing, battery replacement, emergency battery assistance, and related services throughout South East Queensland.


By purchasing products or services from Somerset Batteries, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Services


Our services may include:


Battery testing


Battery replacement and installation


Roadside battery assistance


Supply of automotive, marine, motorcycle, caravan, truck and deep-cycle batteries


Battery charging system checks


Delivery and mobile fitment services



We reserve the right to refuse service where a vehicle or location presents a safety risk.

3. Pricing


All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD).


Prices may include:


Battery cost


Installation charges


Travel or call-out fees


Disposal and recycling fees where applicable



Prices quoted before attendance are estimates only and may change if additional work is required.


Payment is due immediately upon completion of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Mobile Call-Out Fees


Call-out fees apply to mobile services and are payable regardless of whether a battery replacement proceeds, provided our technician has attended the nominated location.


Additional fees may apply for:


After-hours attendance


Public holidays


Remote locations


Commercial vehicles


Multiple battery systems

5. Battery Warranty


Manufacturer warranties apply to batteries supplied by Somerset Batteries.


Warranty periods vary by manufacturer and battery type.


Warranty does not cover:


Incorrect installation by third parties


Accident damage


Abuse, neglect or misuse


Electrical faults within the vehicle


Overcharging or undercharging


Deep discharge beyond manufacturer specifications


Damage caused by faulty alternators, regulators or vehicle wiring



Warranty assessment may require testing of both the battery and vehicle charging system.

6. Returns and Refunds


Returns and refunds are provided in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.


Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available under Australian Consumer Law.


Where a product is found to be faulty, Somerset Batteries may offer:


Repair


Replacement


Refund



depending on the nature of the fault and the requirements of Australian Consumer Law. 


Change-of-mind returns are accepted only at our discretion and may be subject to inspection and restocking fees.

7. Customer Responsibilities


Customers agree to:


Provide accurate vehicle information where requested.


Ensure safe access to the vehicle.


Advise us of known electrical faults.


Ensure vehicle ownership or authority to request work.



We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect information supplied by the customer.

8. Limitation of Liability


To the maximum extent permitted by law, Somerset Batteries is not liable for:


Loss of income


Business interruption


Indirect or consequential loss


Delays caused by weather, traffic or circumstances beyond our control



Our liability is limited to the value of the goods or services supplied, except where Australian Consumer Law provides otherwise.

9. Vehicle Electrical Systems


Battery replacement may reveal existing faults within the vehicle electrical system.


Somerset Batteries is not responsible for pre-existing faults including but not limited to:


Faulty alternators


Starter motor failures


Parasitic battery drains


Wiring faults


Accessory-related electrical issues



Where additional diagnostics are required, further charges may apply.

10. Abandoned Batteries


Any battery removed from a vehicle becomes the property of Somerset Batteries unless otherwise agreed.


Removed batteries may be recycled in accordance with environmental regulations.

11. Payment Methods


We accept:

Bank Transfer (where approved)



Unpaid invoices may incur recovery costs and interest as permitted by law.

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Customers are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Customers are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
